Ravenna: This summer (6th August -10th August 2007), I participated in a 5-day mosaic course in Ravenna , Italy, concentrating on the Roman and Bysantine style of mosaics. I had a private class all for myself in a mosaic-atelier, which was terrific! My two teachers were a young Italian couple, Adrianna Gallo and Luca Barberini (have a look at their site:  www.kokomosaico.com)  They explained to me step by step what I had to do, and I ended up with two marvelous projects I finished. I´ll be putting on some pics of this trip on the site as soon as poss!
